As the City of Greenville has continued to grow, it has continued to invest in its parks, recreation and community facilities. LMG Architects helped transform the Nicholtown Community Center into a welcoming, flexible, and accessible community hub. The 7,200sf community center renovation modernized the existing facility while strengthening its connection to the surrounding neighborhood. Working with Cely Construction and the City of Greenville, LMG provided full design services for a meaningful civic project.
The renovated center features expanded gathering spaces that support meetings, classes, celebrations, wellness programs, and neighborhood activities. A larger multi-purpose room, flexible meeting rooms, and improved circulation allow multiple events to happen at once. Updated staff offices, new youth lounge, updated restrooms, new entryways, and brighter interiors improve comfort for visitors of all ages and abilities. The new playground, updated basketball courts, multi-use field, walking track and other fitness-focused amenities extend community life outdoors.
A successful community center renovation requires more than improving a building. It requires listening to residents, understanding daily needs, and designing spaces that build connection. LMG Architects creates civic and community architecture that supports accessibility, wellness, flexibility, and long-term neighborhood investment. The Nicholtown Community Center renovation reflects Greenville’s commitment to inclusive public spaces where people can gather, grow, and belong.
